As a commercial assistant at Federation University, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to making a difference to every student and the community by providing lifelong learning, skills, and research locally, regionally, and globally.

The successful applicants will provide assistance in various areas including general enquiries, venue support, Fedliving tasks, exam supervision, and more. You will ensure prompt and professional responses to enquiries, provide technical support for events, and assist with administrative tasks as directed.

You will have the opportunity to work on our Mt Helen or Gippsland Campus, with multiple casual opportunities available. Rates of pay will vary according to the nature of the work undertaken.

This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. If you are a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, we encourage you to apply.

  • General: Ensure enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally, and where required, escalated to other staff as appropriate.
  • Venue Support: Provide ushering service for large scale events and performances, Providing technical / AV support to functions and events, Assist with Food, Beverage and Retail services within our venues
  • Fedliving: Carryout routine reception and administrative tasks as directed by the Coordinator, Commercial Services or Associate Director, Commercial Services, Ensure the organisation of short stay accommodation requests, Sort and distribute resident mail and packages, Assist in printing and programming resident swipe cards as required
  • Exam Supervision: Ensure the security of examination materials before, during and after the examination, Ensure room space is setup and examination is conducted in accordance with the external institution / professional body's regulations and procedures.
