
Aboriginal Health Practitioner

Deliver culturally sensitive primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. This role is a key part of our team, providing holistic and flexible care to achieve better health access and outcomes.
We're looking for someone who can work towards registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner. You'll need to be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage, have established links with your local community, and hold or be willing to work towards a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice).
The successful applicant will have knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal community, including awareness of the issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people. They'll also be able to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, plan, develop, deliver and evaluate health promotion and education initiatives, and use computer programs to document care.

Selection criteria:
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
- Hold or be willing to work towards a minimum Certificate IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal community
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team
- Capacity to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate health promotion and education initiatives
