Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Scientist to lead departmental testing and operations. This role involves strategic planning, client and resource management to optimize laboratory performance and support clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and implement protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee departmental testing, development, and validation of methods.
- Maintain current scientific knowledge through journals, scientific meetings, and market developments.
- Ensure all work practices and procedures are in place and followed by all department employees.
- Drive quality and workflow improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
- 6 years' experience as a senior scientist in a related field with exposure across pathology.
- Minimum 2 years in a senior supervisory role with management of rosters, KPIs, turnaround times, and performance management.
This role requires strong leadership skills, self-initiative, and problem-solving capabilities. The ideal candidate will be able to foster a collaborative environment and drive continuous improvement in laboratory practices.
