Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Cell Therapy and Flow Cytometry Laboratory. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory duties as directed by the Scientist-in-Charge, ensuring that all tests are carried out according to established policies, procedures and technical methods.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic laboratory tests following documented techniques and procedures
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain best laboratory practice
- Perform quality control testing, interpret data and follow-up non-conformances
- Participate in Quality Assurance Programmes as directed
- Identify, troubleshoot and report instrument malfunctions
- Maintain consumables stock to ensure continuity of testing
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification
- Professional experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory, preferably with experience in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Processing and / or Diagnostic Flow Cytometry
- Good laboratory, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a team and possess a service focus approach
