Role Overview

Our Maternity Service caters to approximately 200 births annually. We operate a Level 3 Maternity Service and a Level 2 Nursery, in alignment with the Maternity DHHS Capability Framework, focusing on low-risk pregnancies.

The midwife's role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver woman-centered midwifery care.

A qualification in midwifery, either undergraduate or postgraduate, is essential. Relevant experience and the ability to function both independently and as part of a team are preferred.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic midwifery team, providing comprehensive maternity care to women and their families throughout the birthing process.

Responsibilities include providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care within a modified case load model.

The Registered Midwife will demonstrate midwifery skills, knowledge, and attitudes consistent with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Competency Standards.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and Graduate Diploma in Midwifery or Direct Entry Bachelor of Midwifery.
  • Current registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for consumers.
  • Capability to function within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
