We are a dedicated and passionate team working on one of the world's most important priorities – building a category-defining business in the energy transition.

The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will join an established team that leverages knowledge and expertise to build novel, industry-leading models and analyses.

Our data science team follows core principles to produce tools used by organizations across the energy transition to finance, build, benchmark, and operate battery energy storage systems.

  • Source, process, analyze, and interpret large & complex datasets within our growing forecast offering.
  • Develop power market and dispatch models to enhance Modo's product offering.

We utilize Python and the standard scientific computing stack (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, ScikitLearn, etc.). You will work closely with our product and analytics functions to ensure the product we deliver aligns with user needs and provides value to the wider team.

Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years experience using Python (or another programming language e.g. R, C++, Java) and with the scientific computing stack (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, ScikitLearn, etc.).
  • Strong quantitative skills and a proven track record of solving complex technical problems using data analysis, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS) for deploying data science models.

Excellent technical communication skills, enabling you to explain complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A self-starter attitude, eager to dive headfirst into problems and quickly pick things up.
