About the Role

Mercy Community Services is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Social Worker to join the Family Response Facilitation team in the Townsville region. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities.
  • Assess information provided in a referral, engage with families with multiple and high-level needs, and provide resources, information, and advice regarding appropriate community support options.
  • Complete referrals out to appropriate services and provide services to the Townsville region for the Family and Child Connect team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community service providers to ensure families receive the support they need.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Social Work.
  • Previous experience working effectively as a Social Worker across a range of service providers, both government and non-government, to negotiate high-quality service provision to families who have complex issues.
  • A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain.
