About the Role

Mercy Community Services is seeking a motivated and passionate Social Worker to join the Family Response Facilitation team. This is a Permanent, Full-time position.

You will engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess information provided in a referral, engage with families with multiple and high-level needs and provide resources
  • Engage with families with multiple and high-level needs and provide resources, information and advice regarding appropriate community support options
  • Complete referrals out to appropriate services
  • Provide services to the community for the Family and Child Connect team
  • Engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities

About You

As the successful applicant, you will possess:

  • Degree in Social Work
  • Previous experience working effectively as a Social Worker across a range of service providers, both government and non-government, to negotiate high quality service provision to families who have complex issues
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence
  • A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain
