Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager is accountable for planning, organizing and controlling the maintenance activities of a dynamic team to ensure an efficiently run and cost-effective plant with minimal downtime and production disruptions.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance staff
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards and work complies with relevant legislation
  • Support the development and implementation of safety procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance systems to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with Plant Manager and team to manage resources effectively
  • Plan major maintenance to minimize downtime and improve changeover times
  • Assist in reducing downtime by eliminating major areas of concern
  • Ensure planned maintenance does not exceed agreed-upon timeframes
  • Ensure daily maintenance meets company quality standards
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planner to ensure equipment has sufficient spares for high-quality output
Requirements

Proven leadership and management experience in a similar role

Engineering degree or trade certificate

A Class Electrician License

Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems

Ability to read schematic drawings and specifications

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Effective problem-solving and fault-finding abilities

Capable of routine machine cleaning and housekeeping
