Senior Planning Appeals Advisor

We are seeking a senior-level planner to join our team as an advisor to the Corporate Counsel. In this role, you will contribute your knowledge and strategic acumen to support community interests and meet smart planning objectives for our city.

About This Opportunity
  • Act as a key planning expert on appeals, reviewing Class 1 appeals, gathering data, analysing plans and DA submissions, preparing SOFACs, and attending Section 34 conferences.
  • Liaise with external firms, developers, and engineers to support community interests and meet smart planning objectives.
  • Make recommendations on amendments to systems, processes, and workflow to accommodate internal and external stakeholders' needs.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of consultants, ensuring the effective defence of appeals.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Degree qualifications in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in planning-related matters.
  • Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Expertise
  • Superior level of knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.
  • High level understanding of New South Wales (NSW) Planning Legislation and related policies.
  • High level understanding of the processes and procedures of the NSW Land and Environment Court.
