About the Role

The Recreation Support Officer is accountable for assisting the Recreation Unit in its management of recreation services and facilities to the community.

The key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Responding to internal and external enquiries regarding recreation services, event management and facility bookings, and maintenance allocations for all recreation reserves.
  • Guiding, supporting and ensuring compliance of committees of management and advisory bodies in managing, maintaining, promoting, and maximising the sustainable use of public open space and recreational amenities.
  • Assisting in the development of Minor Works program and Site Management Plans to assist in a fit-for-purpose asset portfolio that supports the provision of sport and recreation services.
  • Providing service and information to the general public relating to department programs and activities, where appropriate.
  • Receiving customer enquiries and correspondence, initiating and following up on appropriate action through liaison with relevant Council Officers and external parties.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The qualifications and experience required for the position include:

  • Certificate in Business Administration or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working within an administrative support role.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
