About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join its team as an Auxiliary Firefighter. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency incidents as a member of a team, applying your skills and knowledge to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Contribute to community education activities, promoting emergency preparedness and safety.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through participation in regular drills and training courses.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.

Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies.
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of an auxiliary fire station.

Desirable Skills

  • Leadership and management behavioural competencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
