Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to join our team. As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our staff and clients by managing and coordinating HSE programs at the project level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating HSE programs at the project level on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring workplaces conform with organisational and client procedures and safety standards.
  • Coordinating, supervising and monitoring the project to ensure that HSE key performance indicators are met.
  • Reporting situations at the workplace that could constitute a hazard to any person, environment, or equipment.
  • Completing and managing all relevant paperwork.
  • Managing and motivating a dedicated workforce to maximise operational objectives, including HSE programs.
  • Conducting job observations and safety interactions to improve safety outcomes.
  • Interpreting legislation, standards and technical specifications relating to HSE.
  • Managing and driving safety, quality and environmental initiatives within the workplace.
  • Recording, processing and storing HSE data for ongoing evaluation and identification of solutions to improve effectiveness.
  • Developing and maintaining procedures, work instructions and other safety practices and programs to assist in growth and exceeding standards.
  • Staff site inductions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree, diploma or certificate in HR and/or occupational health and safety.
  • Expertise in communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear documentation and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
