This is a key role in the Complaints team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria, where you'll manage a caseload of complaints and public interest disclosures in accordance with the Service Charter, complaint handling framework, and relevant statutory framework.

As a Senior Complaints Officer, you will be responsible for assessing a diversity of issues that require research and specialist knowledge, such as allegations concerning the exercise of coercive powers and private examinations, the conduct of investigations at other integrity agencies, and consideration of whether conduct could constitute improper conduct or detrimental action under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2012.

Complaints to the Victorian Inspectorate can be highly complex, and the role requires demonstrated experience in handling complaints in an integrity or oversight context, or experience in a complaints, compliance, or investigations role. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as criminal justice, law, public sector administration, or investigations is desirable.
