Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Consumer underwriting strategy and business plan to achieve profitable growth targets.
  • Shape the future of Consumer Underwriting at Allianz Australia, driving strategic initiatives and delivering sustainable growth.
  • Maintain operating efficiency, manage workloads, and ensure underwriting accuracy while responding to changing market conditions.
  • Continuously innovate to respond to market conditions, leveraging insights to enhance our product and service offerings.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for underwriting teams, strengthening our interface with Broker Distribution and Customer Services.
  • Take ownership of business performance, delivering and reporting on the strategy and business plan for Consumer Underwriting.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting governance and compliance frameworks, including underwriting guidelines.
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree in Business or a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Personal lines underwriting and the general insurance industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement competitive business strategies aligned with organizational vision and purpose.
  • Strong leadership skills with recent experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging with audiences at all levels.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
