About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and contributing to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, working collaboratively with other emergency service providers to ensure effective and efficient responses.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities, working closely with local communities to identify and address emergency risks.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses, ensuring you are equipped to respond effectively to a range of emergency situations.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, ensuring you are available to respond at all times.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
