Strategic Development Manager is a key role in supporting the economic growth and resilience of the Illawarra Shoalhaven region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of strategic projects, policy initiatives, and submissions that align with regional priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research and analysis to inform evidence-based decision-making on regional development issues.
  • Monitor emerging trends and data relevant to economic development, workforce, infrastructure, and investment attraction.
  • Lead the coordination and drafting of policy submissions and briefing papers, working closely with stakeholders to secure input and endorsement.
  • Draft strategic reports, business cases, and other documents for stakeholders and government agencies.
  • Support the development and implementation of the RDAIS Regional Plan and Annual Business Plan.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, including scoping, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and evaluation.
  • Apply project management tools and methodologies to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government, industry, education, business, and community stakeholders.
