Job Description

We are seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Physical Security Specialist. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing secure facilities and interpreting risk assessments to ensure the proper security technologies are selected.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and make sound technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead physical security architecture elements on sensitive programs.
  • Create and communicate detailed physical security system designs and guidance to ensure compliance with government policies and frameworks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support leadership and other security teams, focusing on physical security.
  • Manage and implement physical security risk, threat, and vulnerability deliverables.
  • Develop executive-level presentation packs, briefings, papers, and reports for governance bodies and stakeholders.
  • Oversee protective security policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, forms, and templates.
  • Identify vulnerable processes and systems, providing advice and support for remediation of security risks.
  • Engage with stakeholders across AWS and externally, addressing compliance obligations.
A Day in the Life

Engineers in this role must demonstrate exceptional judgment when making technical trade-offs between short-term and long-term security goals. They must also show resilience in navigating difficult situations and persuading colleagues. Successful engineers will regularly analyze their performance with a critical eye.

This position provides training, advice, and mentorship to other engineers throughout AWS.
