About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Governance and Accountability Specialist to join our Company Secretary and Governance Office team at Allianz Australia. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in implementing, managing, and reporting on the accountability arrangements for the Allianz Australia Limited (AAL) executive and Directors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage governance and accountability arrangements for the AAL executive and Directors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Support the executive and their teams in implementing their governance and accountability arrangements, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
  • Develop and enhance processes and systems to meet accountability and notification obligations, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Run business-as-usual governance activities, including the Corporate Rules Framework (policies), delegations, and governance registers.
  • Support the collection and organisation of key corporate data to monitor governance and workstreams, including quarterly reporting and risk reporting.
  • Collaborate with peers in the Corporate Governance and Legal team and across the business to drive continual improvement in Responsible Business and in support of driving fair customer outcomes.
  • Stay updated on key industry trends and regulatory developments, conducting research and briefings to identify implications for AAL.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, law, or a related field, with experience in compliance, risk, regulatory, or governance, preferably with a large financial services organisation.
  • Experience in the Banking Executive Accountability Regime or the Senior Managers Regime is desirable.
  • Experience with drafting formal or corporate documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports to educate on governance and risk insights.
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting and/or advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working with regulators and/or government entities and industry stakeholders, and experience leading and managing external consultants and vendors.
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation and ability to develop a detailed understanding of legislation and regulation.
