Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Reefworld pontoon. This unique opportunity allows you to live and work on the Great Barrier Reef, creating lasting memories for our guests.

This is a full-time position on a lifestyle roster, 7 days on / 7 days off, at our Reefworld Pontoon located on the Outer Great Barrier Reef departing from Airlie Beach, QLD. Shared accommodation and meals are provided whilst on-duty at the Reefworld Pontoon.

  • Ensure exceptional presentation of the pontoons and auxiliary vessels.
  • Handle vessels and comply with Safety Management Systems.
  • Perform maintenance and operate pontoon generators and engines.
  • Undertake general pontoon operational tasks.
  • Conduct crew training, including in-water training and vessel inductions.
  • Record and undertake maintenance on board, ensuring defects are noted.
  • Conduct rescue and lookout duties for guests.
  • Provide customer service and product delivery in collaboration with the rest of the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful, you will be a team player with a positive 'can-do' attitude and comfortable living and working on water for extended periods. Previous deckhand experience and a general aptitude for maintenance and engineering are essential.

You should possess strong marine safety knowledge and compliance expertise, as well as excellent communication abilities to guide and support the Deck Crew. Strong organisational skills and effective time management are also required.

  • Hold a minimum AMSA accredited Coxswains (Open); or Master.
  • Possess a Maritime Radio Operator's Licence.
  • HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid and HLTAID015 - CPR & Apply Oxygen.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol and Blue Card (Working with Children's Check).
  • National Police Check.
