Job Role
  • We seek an experienced Structural Designer to join our Housing team in Brisbane.

Your role includes:

Key Responsibilities
  1. To deliver high-quality structural designs and documentation for medium to large complexity structures such as architecturally designed houses, estate developments, community centres, gymnasiums, and multi-level buildings.
  2. Run projects from concept design to construction within a set timeframe with support from experienced teams.
  3. Assist client management with existing clients and project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  4. Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout project delivery.
  5. Support the development of junior engineers within the team in alignment with company goals and strategy.
  6. Cultivate a sense of client focus in your approach to work, emphasizing responsiveness, timely delivery, and professionalism.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • 1-3 years post-grad structural design experience in residential or building industry.
  • Experience in designing residential/low rise structural buildings.
  • Familiarity with timber structures, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and designs of waffle, raft, suspended slab, retaining walls, etc.
  • Proficient in engineering design software tools such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), RAPT (advantageous).
  • Able to build rapport with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Advanced ability to interpret Australian standards and building codes, design according to AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC, etc.
