About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Visy. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Implement and oversee modifications to plant equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Installation and Repair: Install, assemble, repair, and service machines, including glue lines, roll-overs, conveyors, cylinders, belts, and other components.
  • Quality Control: Test all mechanical parts after being repaired to ensure repairs are adequately completed.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage supplies and spare parts, plan for preventative maintenance, and quickly respond to breakdowns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in formulating action plans and driving continuous improvement with systems to ensure they are efficient, transparent, and deliver required results.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Compliance: Ensure appropriate compliance audits are conducted and issues arising are rectified in a timely manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of equipment modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor all outgoing material to ensure quality standards and safety compliance.
  • Technical Support: Work closely with engineering teams to understand equipment needs and provide technical support.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed reports to management as required.
Requirements
  • Trade Qualification: Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering Mechatronics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience working with manufacturing machines and modification of components in a similar environment.
  • Skillset: Good sense of safety, analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in diagnostics and troubleshooting equipment, and ability to work independently.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with a positive and proactive approach to work.
