About the Role

The role of Plant Operations Specialist involves working in a dynamic environment, responsible for monitoring and operating generating plant and associated equipment across different technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with Territory Generation's safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) to achieve safe & efficient operations of the power station. Operate part (or all) of the power station in local mode when directed by the ROC.
  • Coordinate Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) systems and processes to deliver safe access to plant for planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Conduct operations routines & work on the power station, including routine plant inspections, equipment lubrication, routine tests, identification of plant defects through the business ERP.
  • Track all of your work hours through associated work orders in the business ERP.
  • Participate in 24/7 shift roster.
  • Direct, undertake or supervise work as necessary to maintain the safety of personnel on the site and to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power station plant.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated competence in workplace safety and commitment to safe work practices.
  • AQF Level III Certificate or relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and proven experience in contributing to a constructive culture.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which have resulted in effective team membership and contribution to workplace objectives.
  • Proven ability to analyse technical systems and assess/report anomalies.
  • Well-developed computer literacy.
  • Experience with continuous shift work.
