Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Assistant to join our global packaging business in Queensland, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Site Manager in all facets of production, setting up and operating tray erecting machines, and coordinating resources for high-quality, safe, and productive operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Site Manager in all aspects of production and operations management.
  • Set up and operate tray erecting machines to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Plan and carry out preventative maintenance and manage erector spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and costs.
  • Ensure work flows through machines at required speeds to meet quality and customer needs, and implement process improvements as needed.
  • Take customer orders and assist with deliveries, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Provide technical coaching and support to the team, including supervising and allocating work to seasonal labour hire casuals.
  • Coordinate resources, including equipment and personnel, to achieve high-quality, safe, and productive operations.
Key Requirements
  • Mechanically minded and skilled machine operator with experience in setting up and operating tray erecting machines.
  • Results-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise and train others.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods.
