The ideal candidate will possess the leadership capability to nurture, develop, drive and motivate a diverse multi-cultural workforce. They should have demonstrated supervisory experience in a fast-paced industrial production or operations environment.
A strong track record in performance management, conflict resolution, safety, continuous improvement, innovation and change is essential. The role requires adaptability, communication and team building skills as well as solid experience in data analysis and strategic thinking.
The selected candidate will lead a production team with a focus on safety, driving team performance and delivering productivity targets. They will manage shift maintenance, equipment breakdowns and liaise with maintenance staff ensuring that customers' expectations are met or exceeded.
Key responsibilities include responsible and accountable for occupational health and safety of employees, contractors and site visitors, provide direction and support to the production team, ensure productivity targets are met, maintain quality and service standards on the shift, achieve budgeted costs and production forecasts for the shift and achieve set goals.
Applicants should hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics or a related discipline and be able to develop people and identify training needs for shift employees. Strong communication and team building skills, mentoring and delegating tasks effectively are highly valued.
