**Job Description:**

We are seeking an experienced Network Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd. This role will be responsible for designing, deploying, and operating AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Deploy network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments, and multiple AWS services.
  • Design, deploy, and scale our network across multiple global data centers (including existing and new locations).
  • Create and automate deployment processes that increase quality and velocity.
  • Collaborate with our internal customers on designs/solutions and bring them from concept to production.
  • Develop and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
  • Create and implement changes on the live network.
  • Work closely with our software teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
  • Create and review documentation regarding new standard operating procedures and process improvement.
  • Work with data sets related to DC and networking infrastructure, network utilization, traffic demands, and forecasts.
  • Developing metrics related to health, availability, and cost of the network in AWS regions.
  • Determine what the best network topologies and designs are to minimize cost and latency while ensuring high availability, security, and performance, using simulation and optimization tools.
  • Automate all aspects of extending and scaling our networks, including planning.

**Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of major internet routing protocols experience (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS).
  • 1+ years of automation scripting e.g. Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Enhance existing automations tools and identify solutions to complex network deployment problems at scale.
  • Experience with simulating and modeling network traffic demands/forecasts along with network failure modeling and resiliency planning.
  • Publish simple and concise High/Low level designs which will maintain a healthy and highly redundant network.
