Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled economist to join our Macroeconomic Strategy team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with statistical packages such as EViews, R or Stata, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.

A tertiary qualification in economics is required.

Economic Analysis

You will be responsible for producing robust economic forecasts and insightful commentary to support evidence-based decision-making by government.

This includes working constructively as part of a team to produce advice on complex issues including current and future macroeconomic conditions.

Additionally, you will prepare high-quality advice on the economy and the latest economic data to key stakeholders, often under tight deadlines.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain economic forecasting models using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • Analyse economic data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Use modern data visualisation tools and mapping techniques to enhance economic data presentations.
About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a high level of expertise in economic analysis and data interpretation.

A strong understanding of economic theory and its application in real-world scenarios is essential.

You should also have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
