Job Title: Economist, Macroeconomic Strategy

  • Our team works closely with policymakers and stakeholders to provide authoritative forecasts and insightful commentary on Victoria's economic conditions and outlook.

As an Economist in the Macroeconomic Strategy team, you will work as part of a high-performing and highly collaborative team of economists to deliver robust economic analysis and recommendations to inform evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of macroeconomic data to inform economic forecasting models.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for key stakeholders, including policymakers, senior management, and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in economics or a related field is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using statistical packages such as EViews, R or Stata.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
