Job Title: Fire Support Role

This position is a vital part of our firefighting team, based in Springsure.


The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well under pressure.


Location: Springsure


Status: Casual Flexible


Classification: FAUXF

  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence

Job Description:

This role involves responding to emergency situations, participating in community education activities and maintaining equipment.


We are looking for individuals who can work as part of a team, communicate effectively and adapt to changing situations.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. To respond to emergency situations and participate in drills and training sessions.
  2. To maintain equipment and station facilities.
  3. To contribute to incident reporting and general administration.
  4. To promote community safety through participation in community education activities.
  5. To ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
  6. To operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Commitments:
  • Attending incident and emergency calls – 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours; or 30% of calls as a shift worker or with non-routine hours.
  • Attending 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
  • Obtaining an MRV licence, at your own expense, within 12 months of employment.
  • Participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care.
