About Our Cyber Security Role

We're looking for a skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our team in Canberra, working on cybersecurity and information warfare projects.

This is a broad scope opportunity to contribute to the shaping of the future of defence in Australia.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze cybersecurity events via a SIEM platform, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Security Manager to develop incident response strategies and tactics.
  • Manage vulnerabilities based on automated or manual CVE notifications, ensuring the security posture of our systems.
  • Conduct cyber supply chain risk analysis for COTS and OSS, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  • Provide expert advice to Product Teams on logging and monitoring implementation, enhancing overall security efficacy.

What You'll Bring:

  • SOC Analyst / Cyber Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst, EC-Council Certified SOC Analyst, GIAC Certified Incident Handler).
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner, a mandatory requirement for all personnel.
  • Experience with Security Incident and Event Management platforms (e.g., Splunk), including threat hunting and vulnerability assessment.
  • Incident response experience in SOC environments and open-source intelligence analysis.
  • Desirable experience in Linux, cyber supply chain risk assessments, and advanced threat hunting.

Note: Due to the nature of the work, you must currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
