About the Position:

We are seeking a Mining Engineer to take on key responsibilities in our open-cut mining operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote site safety, environmental, health, and quality of mining activities
  • Develop short-term Load & Haul schedules to meet production targets
  • Design and optimize haul roads, dump locations, and loading areas using mine planning software
  • Collaborate with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams to ensure alignment of plans and execution
  • Monitor and adjust schedules based on operational feedback, equipment availability, and changing conditions
  • Conduct regular pit inspections to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
  • Provide technical support to supervisors and operators regarding plan implementation and design intent
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in mine planning and operational efficiency

The Work Arrangement:

This is a Monday to Friday roster position with one rostered day off per month, allowing for a residential lifestyle.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Mine planning and Design software (exposure to Vulcan would be well-regarded)
  • Experience in open-cut mining operations within the coal industry (experience outside of coal will be considered)
