Youth Justice Community Conference Coordinator

The role of Convenor Youth Justice involves preparing for and facilitating restorative justice conferences.
- Preparing conference agendas and identifying key issues to be addressed during the conference.
- Inviting participants, including victims, young offenders, and their families, as well as community members and other stakeholders.
- Facilitating open communication and dialogue between participants to resolve conflicts and achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensuring that all parties understand and agree on the outcomes and actions to be taken following the conference.
As a Convenor Youth Justice, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and maintain community networks and relationships. This includes building trust and rapport with local police, cultural groups, support services, and other community agencies.
You will also need to communicate effectively with multicultural and Aboriginal young people, families, and victims of crime, providing them with information and support throughout the conference process.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a high level of emotional intelligence and empathy.
Key requirements include:
- A minimum Provisional 2 NSW Driver's licence.
- National Criminal History Check.
- Access to your own personal computer with internet access and mobile phone.
- NSW Working with Children Check Clearance (WWCC).
Successful applicants will require flexibility and resilience in their approach to working with diverse individuals and groups, as well as the ability to work irregular hours as needed.
