Role Overview

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join its Technology Corporate Affairs team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing impactful external and internal communications strategies and campaigns to support employee engagement in the Technology business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communications strategies and campaigns that align with the bank's purpose and values.
  • Develop and execute effective external and internal communications plans that engage stakeholders and promote the bank's brand.
  • Manage key communication channels and measure their effectiveness through various metrics.
  • Take a leading role in planning and executing employee events to ensure alignment and consistency of key senior leadership face-to-face communication and engagement opportunities.
  • Develop close working relationships with teams across Corporate Affairs and Marketing to align communication on Technology and group-wide campaigns.
  • Identify and manage potential risk and reputational issues related to your role.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and respectful team culture.

Requirements

  • Risk Mindset: Proactively identify and understand current and future risks and act on them.
  • Demonstrated experience in Marketing/Corporate Affairs or an equivalent role in either in-house or PR agency.
  • Passion for delivering effective communications, results-orientated, technically expert, and able to contribute to and execute strategic programs of work and tactical activities.
  • Proven written communication skills, media relations experience, and sound knowledge of internal channels.
  • Keen interest and knowledge of public affairs.
  • Experience in technology, operations, and/or financial services will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with financial and consumer media and preparing briefing materials for issues management.
