Purchasing and Sourcing Manager Role

This position involves developing purchasing strategies to ensure efficient procurement of goods and services for new requirements.

  • Develop purchasing strategies to drive execution of group and site-based sourcing strategies at an operational level with a focus on operations management and excellence.
  • Manage the implementation of sourcing projects at site and operational level in accordance with the company's pipeline of work.
  • Deliver tactical sourcing activities by obtaining quotes, supplier selection and negotiation for new requirements.
  • Assist departments in maintaining budget targets with identifying suitable sourcing options from existing contracts or alternative sources, considering total cost of business, without compromising product quality or service.
  • Visit departments periodically to gain a better understanding of product and service offering needs and take action or seek guidance on issues presented, advice to maximise commercial outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate leader who has experience managing large teams with a focus on developing capability and excellent levels of service. You will have a strong background in hospitality/restaurant purchasing with proven experience of driving results. The ideal candidate will also have:

  • A degree in business, commerce, economics or finance would be beneficial.
  • Leadership mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Excellent supplier management skills and proven experience delivering product sourcing strategies.
  • Able to identify and deliver sustained cost saving opportunities.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills, able to influence at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and presentation, as well as strong negotiating and influencing ability.
