Full-time Laboratory Scientist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our team in Mount Isa. This role will involve performing scientific analyses in the areas of Transfusion Medicine, Haematology, Chemical Pathology, and Microbiology in a continuous shift rostering arrangement.
This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team that operates 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply independent scientific judgement to analyse patient specimens and verify test results.
- Undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following established protocols and standards.
- Participate in continuous shift work on a 24-hour rostering arrangement.
- Initiate and contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures, and research activities.
- Apply high level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties with minimal supervision.
- Tertiary degree qualification in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised university or tertiary institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in diagnostic testing and clinical interpretation of results.
- Able to participate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills.
- Able to apply established principles to a multi-discipline service with provision of results and clinical advice.
