Laboratory Scientist Position Available

We are seeking an experienced Scientist to become part of a vibrant and engaged team, working on various laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Routine specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis
- Assisting with inventory management and record-keeping
- Maintenance of equipment and adherence to protocols
- Continuous learning and staying updated on scientific knowledge
- Participation in Quality Assurance activities
- Development of new assays and contributing to continuous improvement
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals
This position involves working across two hospital laboratories, Albury Base Hospital and Wodonga Hospital, with a rotating roster that includes weekends and night shifts.
About YouTo be considered for this role, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment
- Morphology and Microbiology experience desirable
- Solid understanding of quality control, quality assurance and troubleshooting
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong commitment to quality and excellence
- Positive attitude towards achieving outcomes and being a cohesive team member
- Effective time management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to cope and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
This position may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department-specific vaccine-preventable diseases.
