About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Residential Care Operations to lead our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Sydney. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our SIL home, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery through role modeling, coaching, and supervision of staff.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in SIL and a strong understanding of the NDIS. They will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also have experience with behavioural management plans, restrictive practices, and behaviours of concern/high medical needs, manual handling, and medications.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of our Supported Independent Living Home
  • Lead and model effective person-centered practices, including working individually with participants, planning and delivering work per care plans, providing support to families and carers, and working with local service providers
  • Support the team in providing high-quality services in line with participant care plans, goals, and outcomes
  • Develop fortnightly rosters, allocating staff according to contracted hours, planned leave, and participants' care rosters
  • Provide effective onboarding, site orientation, and training to new employees, supporting their engagement and learning journey
  • Conduct regular team meetings and monthly practice supervision to assess the performance of each team member
  • Work with staff, participants, families, and other stakeholders to understand and resolve concerns
  • Coordinate on-site support and review incidents and complaints
  • Ensure staff work within Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures of the Quality Management System
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and a strong understanding of NDIS
  • Capacity to effectively lead, coach, and develop a team to achieve the best quality service outcomes
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, incorporating effective planning, time management, problem-solving, organisational skills, resourcing, and achieving quality outcomes
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements
  • An understanding of available community services, networks, and supports
  • Experience with behavioural management plans, restrictive practices, and behaviours of concern/high medical needs, manual handling, and medications
  • Empathy and passion to make a difference in the lives of those we serve
  • A sound understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding framework
  • Relevant immunisation paperwork
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of AU$80,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
