Job Description:
As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will oversee all kitchen activities, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement menus that align with the hotel's concept and target audience.
- Oversee the setup and organization of kitchen facilities, including designing layouts, selecting equipment, and sourcing ingredients.
- Hire, train, and develop a talented team of chefs and kitchen staff.
- Conduct menu testing and tasting sessions to refine recipes and ensure consistency in flavor and presentation.
- Identify and establish relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Procure necessary equipment and ensure it is properly installed and functioning before opening.
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage, events, and front office, to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.
- Prepare annual departmental operating budgets and financial plans.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or diploma in culinary arts.
- 5 years' experience as a chef, with at least 1 year in a Head or Executive Chef capacity.
- Demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities across multiple outlets.
- Strong communication skills and passion for developing your team.
- Strategic thinking and ability to explore new ways of working.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in other languages preferred.
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
