We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to provide expert legal advice and support to our team in the areas of privacy and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality legal advice on privacy and regulatory matters to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify and report on upcoming changes to laws and regulations, and provide recommendations on how to mitigate potential risks.
- Develop and maintain formal relationships with relevant regulators, including drafting regulatory correspondence.
- Support the maintenance of a robust compliance program, including the development of policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on developments in law and regulation to ensure that advice provided is sound, accurate, and relevant.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver outcomes for the business.
- Experience as a Senior Associate at a law firm or equivalent senior lawyer in-house.
- Law degree from an Australian or international university.
- Current relevant practising certificate in a state Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
- Strong background in privacy and regulatory law.
- Past experience with compliance and risk management preferred, but not essential.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
