Senior Legal Advisor

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our Commercial and Regulatory team in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will provide sophisticated legal advice on complex matters arising in government operations, including procurement, infrastructure, IT, construction, and regulatory matters.
You will work closely with various clients, including Corrections Victoria, Youth Justice, Aboriginal Justice, Emergency Management, and Gaming and Liquor, to provide solutions-based legal advice on issues relevant to the government and the department.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong technical legal skills, experience providing legal advice in relation to commercial transactions and regulatory matters, and knowledge of Victorian government and Cabinet processes.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex and challenging projects, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that shape the department's work.
