Job Description

Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Work is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert technical advice, coordination, management, and support in driving the engineering design process for Darwin's next major water supply infrastructure project, the Adelaide River Off-stream Water Storage (AROWS) Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide expert technical advice and support in the delivery of complex activities for the AROWS scheme.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with project team members and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide project and contract management support to the Senior Engineer to achieve project objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage various technical contracts and consultancies to ensure compliance.
  • Support and show leadership in advising a diverse team on technical and legislation/compliance matters.
Requirements
  • A bachelor or higher degree in civil engineering or similar field from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Sound experience in civil design, pre-construction documentation development, and construction techniques and practices.
  • Strong project and contract management skills and high-level demonstrated knowledge and experience coordinating complex, multi-disciplined project elements of major civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and prioritise workload with demonstrated resilience and consistency.
  • Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of NTG agency structures, policies, and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in design/construction of major civil water infrastructure (water supply and delivery).
