Medical Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Clerk to provide exceptional patient service and administrative support in our General Practice environment.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months of experience in medical administration and be available to work varied hours including afternoons, days and mornings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks such as data entry and scanning
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients and colleagues
  • Enhance the image of the front reception area
  • Book GP and Allied Health appointments
  • Process private billings and Medicare claims
  • Manage opening and closing procedures

Requirements

  • 12 months of experience in medical administration
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with medical software
