Role Overview

This role involves providing financial leadership and direction to support improved outcomes for staff and stakeholders within a Federal Government agency.

As a Finance Officer - Accessibility and Inclusion, you will be responsible for leading financial operations and procurement activities, driving improvements in procurement and sourcing, and contributing to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives within the Office of Agency Accessibility and Inclusion (OAAI).

Main Duties:
  • Managing accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, acquittals, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Delivering end-of-month and year-end financial processes, including reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintaining vendor master data, including domestic and international payment processing.
  • Providing procurement services including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management to support staff with disability in the workplace.
  • Prioritising governance and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Leading financial management of staff supports, month-end reporting, and OAAI budgeting.
  • Ensuring compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), Procurement Policy, and Agency Accountable Authority Instructions (AAIs).
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive business improvements and system enhancements.
  • Providing training and support to stakeholders to enhance financial literacy and promote operational efficiency.
  • Working independently or under limited guidance to anticipate challenges and contribute to innovative solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in accounts payable and financial operations.
  • Experience procuring goods and services in line with government procurement policies.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
  • Australian Citizenship (federal government requirement)
