Job Description

The Network and Server Operations Team Lead will oversee the delivery, integration, and sustainment of secure, high-performance ICT systems in support of Australian Defence Force mission planning capability. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing both the technical direction and day-to-day operations of network and server environments across fixed and deployed Defence contexts.

This individual will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the development, integration, and sustainment of software, hardware, data, tools, and processes for ADF mission planning systems in fixed and deployed environments. They will conduct performance reviews, set team objectives, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance of physical server and networking hardware, ensuring high availability and performance. They will manage the development and maintenance of system configurations for MPS laptops and servers, coordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of software and security updates.

This role requires strong technical leadership skills to resolve data support issues and ensure mission systems meet operational requirements. The individual will also support Defence strategic networks, ensuring compliance with security and accreditation standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE)).
  • MS Windows Imaging.
  • MS Windows security.
  • MS Windows Server Platforms.
  • Technical/Admin level experience with client operating systems from MS Windows 10 – 11.
  • MS Windows Office products.
  • Software Scripting.
  • Defence ICT Security Accreditation requirements.
