Animal Caregiver Role Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of animals. The ideal candidate will have experience handling animals and providing exceptional care.

The primary responsibilities of this role include tending to cat boarding facilities, caring for all cat boarders, administering medications as directed by veterinary staff, maintaining hospital cleanliness, preparing hospital and wards for incoming patients, cleaning cages and patient areas, feeding patients according to instructions, ensuring hospital patients are walked at designated times, assisting veterinary nurses with daily duties, answering phones, booking appointments, and assisting with daily washing of bedding.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Tend and maintain cat boarding facilities
  • Care for all cat boarders, ensuring their comfort and well-being
  • Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients
  • Prepare hospital and wards for incoming patients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Certificate II Animal Studies qualifications or higher
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a larger team
  • Significant experience handling animals, including administering medication
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • A proactive and hardworking attitude
  • An eye for detail
  • Common sense and a positive, solution-based approach
  • Current driver's license
