We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Department - Health and Physical Education to join our team at Mackay State High School. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Health and Physical Education curriculum and pedagogy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and implementation of curriculum and pedagogy across the faculty
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to improve student achievement and engagement
- Supporting teachers to achieve high standards and develop their capacity through professional learning, coaching and feedback
- Forming collaborative partnerships with industry and external organisations
- Supporting and modelling classroom management techniques to enhance student engagement
- Forming strong learning partnerships with students, parents and external stakeholders
- Understanding and implementing relevant legislation and policies
- Managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve goals
