About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated teacher to join our team as a Specialised Autism Learning Program (SALP) teacher. As a key member of our college community, you will play a vital role in providing innovative and engaging classes for our students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly personalised learning plans to facilitate access to age-appropriate curriculum for students with ASD.
  • Apply evidence-based individualised education interventions to improve academic engagement, organisational skills, social thinking, peer relationships, and self-regulation skills.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator - SALP to provide a safe and caring environment for students with ASD to thrive within their mainstream secondary school setting.
  • Work with a range of teaching and non-teaching staff across the college to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold an eligible teaching qualification.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to and obtain a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
