About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities and Safety Officer to join our team at Canva Philippines. As a key member of our Vibe - Space Creation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, as well as maintaining our office facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Occupational Safety and Health Compliance: Ensure that our office spaces comply with international and local OSH regulations, and that any facilities and construction works are compliant and that any incidents or hazards are reported and resolved.
  • Emergency Response and Disaster Preparedness: Develop and implement Emergency and Disaster preparedness programs to mitigate the risk of property and life damage brought about by emergencies such as fire, earthquake, typhoon, and pandemic.
  • First Aid & Emergency Management Training: Monitor, manage and administrate the booking of company-wide first aid and emergency management training sessions.
  • Facilities Management: Ensure our buildings and Canva's services are working correctly, including setting up and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring service level agreements are set and adhered to, working closely with our contractors, tracking our assets, and ensuring our schedule of audits are actioned and tickets are worked through and cleared by collaborating with the Global Space Creation team.
  • Furniture and Equipment Management, Procurement and Implementation: Track and oversee business objectives aligned to furniture management, procurement and implementation.
  • Construction Project Management: Administrate the construction of our office spaces and new projects, working closely with the Facilities Lead and architect from initial concept through to delivering the final build and sign off.
  • Storage Management: Oversee administration and organization of storage management assets on a quarterly basis.
  • Innovation and Processes: Review and refresh operational processes within the facilities & construction team, identify and support implementation of cost saves, innovation and best practice.
  • Events Support: Plan and execute our support for in-office or off-site events, including logistics, shuttle and bus services, ingress and egress, electrical and water supply, and others.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Safety Officer experience, with SO3 or higher certification
  • 5+ years of Facilities Management experience. Tech / BPO company experience is an advantage
  • Effective leadership abilities
  • Knowledgeable in processes and systems related to Hybrid Workplace
  • Delivers value to our Canvanauts and guests: Shows comprehension of customer experiences and requirements.
  • Strategic thinker: Effectively plans workload, resolves competing priorities, and identifies opportunities to simplify work.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator
  • Pollution Control Officer certification is a plus
  • Construction project management (fit outs and refurbishments) experience is a plus.
  • Willing to work onsite and on a shifting schedule
