About the Role

The University of South Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Leader to join its Learning and Teaching Systems team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and day-to-day supervision of a team of information technologists who develop and support learning and teaching systems, applications, and services to support the student lifecycle.

You will be responsible for solving complex IT issues, guiding staff to implement new technical enhancements, and spearheading large IT projects. Your technical expertise will be crucial in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of specific information technology solutions using a variety of technologies including .NET, PHP, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.

The successful candidate will have significant experience leading teams of developers and system administrators, with a strong understanding of management principles. You will also have extensive experience in technical leadership and design skills contributing to large and complex IT projects, as well as substantial experience in the architecture, design, development, and support of modern web applications and services, particularly .NET.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who is adept at managing IT projects in complex information environments. Your strong organisational skills and technical IT knowledge will allow you to effectively manage project timelines, schedules, and competing priorities. With your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will be able to engage stakeholders throughout all project stages, while also leading and guiding junior IT professionals to deliver project outcomes and develop professionally.

About the Team

The Learning and Teaching Systems team is responsible for the strategic and operational provision of UniSA's considerable IT infrastructure and services. The team works closely with other ISTS teams and University business unit staff to provide technical advice and assistance related to the architecture and design of learning and teaching systems to ensure business needs are met.

  • Significant experience leading teams of developers and system administrators, with a strong understanding of management principles
