Key Role in Cancer Awareness and Education

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join the fight against rare cancers. As part of our team, you will play a key role in extending the impact of our Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program by raising awareness, delivering health education, and building strong relationships with patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and the wider community.

About the Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing effective education and engagement strategies to reach and engage diverse audiences effectively. This includes identifying key messages and communication channels, tailoring health promotion strategies to meet the needs of priority populations, and delivering engaging education and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive education and engagement plans to raise awareness of rare and less common cancers, improve understanding of patient and carer experiences, and support access to information, services, and advocacy.
  • Identify key messages and communication channels to effectively reach and engage diverse audiences.
  • Tailor health promotion strategies to meet the needs of priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, rural and remote communities, and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
  • Design and deliver engaging education and training sessions for patients, carers, healthcare professionals, organisations, and community groups.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with community organisations, patient advocacy groups, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with and consult patients, families, and community groups to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Organise and coordinate community events, workshops, and educational sessions, and represent the organisation at forums and conferences as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education and engagement initiatives, providing regular reports to internal stakeholders.
